Description

📖 Noah: The Man Who Trusted God’s Blueprint (Genesis 6)

The Bible tells us in Genesis 6:9 that Noah was a righteous man who walked faithfully with God. When God told him that a great flood was coming to wash the earth clean, Noah didn’t complain or make excuses. Even though it had never rained like that before, Noah picked up his tools and began building exactly what God asked him to make.

After many months of sailing through the waters, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. Noah opened the window and sent out a white dove to see if the dry land had returned. The first time, the dove found nowhere to rest and flew straight back to Noah’s outstretched hand. Seven days later, Noah sent the dove out again. This time, as the evening sun set over the calm waters, the dove returned carrying a fresh green olive branch in its beak! Noah knew the ground was drying and God’s new day had arrived.

When Noah stepped onto dry ground, the first thing he did was build an altar to worship and thank God. God placed a glowing rainbow across the sky as an eternal covenant: never again would the waters destroy all life. God is faithful, and those who trust in Him will never be abandoned.

💡 3 Sunday School Discussion Questions

  • 1. Question for Recall: What did the little white dove bring back in its beak to show Noah that plants were growing again? (A fresh green olive leaf!)
  • 2. Question for Heart Reflection: What was the very first thing Noah did when he finally stepped out of the Ark onto dry ground? (He stopped to praise and thank God! How can we thank God every day?)
  • 3. Question for Real-Life Application: When we see a rainbow after a thunderstorm, what does God want us to remember? (That God always keeps His promises and His love never fails!)
